Principal's Message

Dear Students, Faculty, Parents, and Community Members,

Welcome to the 2017/2018 school year! We are excited to be supporting your child's growth towards high school, college and career readiness.  Olive Vista has three Small Learning Communities or SLC's- the Humanitas Academy, the Success Academy, and the STEAM Magnet.  Three schools within one to help personalize the educational experience for each child. These thematic SLC's all support the Academic, Physical, and Social Emotional well being of each student while offering thematic learning experiences that will prepare them for future success.

The Olive Vista staff looks forward to partnering with parents as we continue to implement the Common Core State Standards.  In order to be successful, our students will need to be proficient in the 21st Century Skills of collaborative problem-solving and accessing/learning information using technology.  I invite you to take an active role in your child’s education as we all embrace the role of being a life-long learner.

Construction Update- The construction of the MPR, Cafeteria, and Gymnasium are well underway.  The project will be ongoing through the fall of 2019 but we are doing all we can to minimize the impact to our instructional program.  We hold periodic community meetings that provide a more detailed update of the project. In the meantime, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about our improvements in progress.

Parent participation is one of the keys to academic success.  If you are interested to find out how you can be a parent volunteer at Olive Vista, please stop by the Parent Center or call the school at (818) 833-3900.  Olive Vista offers a variety of resources for both students and parents on site and with our community partners.
